Hello folks, in this very end of 2009 year, the newest update of Smells Like Facebook theme is available. Major changes made to this theme including:

  • Fix on unregistered comments. Now if someone which is not registered as member post a comment, no errors will be found.
  • Multiple pages post support. The theme now support posts with multiple pages. The <!–nextpage–> tags will split pages correctly, and links to next and previous page will be available below the post content. Note: this is a compulsory for new theme hosted in WordPress Theme Directory
  • An anchor that with target “_blank” will open the link correctly in new tab / window. There are some reports that in the older version, the link will be opened ajaxly.

You may see that the update of this theme is very slow. The last version, 2.4 was uploaded on July. I’m very sorry about this, since I have a lot of work to do to feed myself. I also got a serious health problem last month, so I can’t focus myself to this theme. But if you intend to give me some penny, I think I’ll quit my job and focusing on this theme, seriously ;) You can send the donation to my paypal. Every donations is very helpful. After all, some bugs may still appear. Please let me know if you encounter one. I’m very happy (and also tired :P ) to see many responses from people about this theme. Thank you for using my work.

Akhirnya theme kloning dari Facebook ini selesai juga (phew). Pekerjaan iseng-iseng saja sebenarnya, hanya untuk mengisi waktu di antara waktu nganggur dan waktu kerja lembur. Dan boleh saya bilang, theme ini merupakan theme WordPress yang paling ‘ngeplek’ dengan stylesheetnya Facebook 8) . FYI, theme ini meng-klon halaman profil user di Facebook. Tidak seluruhnya memang, tapi garis besarnya sudah disesuaikan dengan fitur-fitur WordPress.

Kolom untuk ads / iklan masih belum disediakan, mengingat hal tersebut tidak ada dalam fitur dasar WordPress. Tab-tab boxes di Facebook digantikan dengan daftar kategori, sementara link-link utama di pojok kiri atas diganti dengan daftar Page / halaman. Gambar / foto dari pemilik blog / komentator diambil dari Gravatar, tentu saja. Kotak deskripsi pendek (di bawah foto utama) adalah Biographical Info yang ada di wp-admin/profile.php. Judul blog & tagline ditempatkan di mana nama user & status di Facebook berada.

Theme ini masih saya gunakan secara pribadi di blog ini dan belum saya rilis untuk umum, karena ada beberapa fitur yang belum ditambahkan, serta masih ada beberapa tampilan yang kacau jika ditampilkan di Internet Explorer. IE sucks!! Rencananya sih akan saya upload ke Direktori Theme WordPress. Semoga saja lulus verifikasi. :D

Ternyata meng-kloning itu mengasyikkan! Memang ada beberapa pihak yang mencibir bahwa saya ini bisanya meniru doang lah, yang ide-nya ga orisinil lah, yang plagiat lah. Ya mau bagaimana lagi? Wong saya ahlinya memang di situ. Saya masih belum bisa menemukan ide yang benar-benar orisinil dan bagus, jadi yah, sementara bertahan di level ini dulu.

Maaf, theme untuk blog ini sedang dalam masa pembuatan.. Masih ada beberapa fungsi yang masih belum selesai dikerjakan. Mohon maaf bila terjadi ketidaknyamanan.
